Leçon de cinéma with Lucas Belvaux 13/6/12
Luc Jabon and Andre Buytaers invite you to discover Lucas Belvaux - his work, his sometimes surprising but always rigorous and personal cinematic desires, his favourite themes and the urgency with which he likes to bring them to the big screen. The session will be an opportunity to hear from and dialogue with a director who is endearing and unusual and who, at the same time, continues to work in front of the camera as an actor. (Event in French)
Influenced during his early acting days by directors such as Jacques Rivette, Claude Chabrol and Alain Bergala, Lucas Belvaux moved to the other side of the camera in 1991 with his first film “Parfois trop d’amour”. A trilogy (“Un couple epatant”, “Cavale”, “Apres la vie”) and a Louis Delluc prize later, Lucas Belvaux has brought his incisive vision to our screens. His last two films, “Rapt” and “38 temoins” confirmed his place as a major author in Belgian cinema.
