SAA calls for creators to be put at heart of copyright policy
In its contribution to the European Commission’s consultation on the review of EU copyright rules, the SAA has called on the Commission to put creators back at the heart of copyright policy to help reinforce the legitimacy of the copyright system.
SAA’s main proposals in this area are to implement an unwaivable remuneration right for the online exploitation of audiovisual works with compulsory collective management. The submission also calls on the Commission to look at contractual practices in the audiovisual sector as well as to heed the conclusions of the recently adopted resolution of the European Parliament on private copying levies.
