Reinhold Bilgeri

Reinhold Bilgeri is an Austrian screenwriter and director. He graduated in 1976 at the University of Innsbruck and worked for 5 years as a High School teacher. In 1980 he started his professional career as a rock singer, songwriter, novelist, screenwriter, producer and director. Up until the 90's he landed 25 top hits in Austria, South America and several European countries, got several gold and platinum awards and produced and wrote TV shows as promotion tools for his records. He wrote radio plays, short stories and published in 2005 his best-selling novel Der Atem des Himmels (The Breath of Heaven), of which he directed the film adaptation (2010). Since then, he has directed and produced films, such as Alles Fleisch ist Gras (2014) and Erik & Erika (2018).   In 2022, he directed and wrote the TV documentary Wilhelm und Rudolf - Die verfeindeten Prinzen with Iris Fegerl. In the recent years, he directed one episode of the 2024 TV series Auch das ist Österreich (ServusTV). His work is now focused on writing.
