Jorge Paixão da Costa is a Portuguese film director who has directed the feature films Adeus Princesa (Goodbye Princess, 1994), O Mistério da Estrada de Sintra (The Mystery of the Sintra Road, 2007), Jacinta (2017) and Soldado Milhões (Courage of One, 2018). He graduated from the University of Stockholm and attended the master’s School of the European Film Academy. He additionally holds a PhD from Lusófona University and Nova University and has since 1997 been a professor at the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies. He directed more than twenty television productions of television series, sitcoms, films, short films, and documentaries such as Maluda (2021), O Atentado (2020), Não Sei Do Que Se Trata Mas Não Concordo (2019), República (2010), a Espia (2004) and Não és Homem Não és Nada (1996). He was also the director of the film magazine Premiere (2008-2009). In 2023, his most recent work as director and co-writer, Cândido (Candid) was released.
