László Czető Bernát
László Czető Bernát is a Hungarian screenwriter for TV and cinema. Until 1998, he worked for MTV (Hungarian Public Service TV) as a playwright. After winning Hartley-Merrill International Script Competition’s Grand Prize later that year (organised by Sundance), he wrote scripts for films and series, novels, short novels, plays and radio plays. He is renowned for launching Hungary’s most critically acclaimed TV shows, such as Kémeri (1984-), Szomszédok (1987-1999), Barátok közt (1998-2021), Állomá s(2008-), as well as for writing two feature films: Whole New Ballgame: Rosszfiúk (Badboys, 2000) and Veszettek (2015). He has taught screenwriting at the Budapest Metropolitan University, and several workshops catered to seasoned professionals.
Czető Bernát is involved in Filmjus (Hungarian Society for the Protection of Audiovisual Authors’ and Producers’ Rights), of which he has been a board member since 2016.
