Romas Zabarauskas

Romas Zabarauskas is a Lithuanian screenwriter and director. He established himself as a provocative Baltic storyteller with a politically engaging and visually lush body of work. Zabarauskas holds a BA in film from Saint-Denis University in Paris with an exchange year at Hunter College, New York, and an MA in communication from KSU, Vilnius. His debut short film Porno Melodrama (2011) premiered at the Berlinale Panorama. Since 2013, he has written, directed, and produced four feature films: We Will Riot (2013), You Can't Escape Lithuania (2016), The Lawyer (2020) and The Writer (2023). He is currently working on the post-production of his 5th, queer thriller The Activist.
