The Society of Audiovisual Authors congratulates the European Parliament and particularly French MEP Françoise Castex, following the adoption of her report in plenary on private copying levies on 27 February. The report rightly underlines the continued relevance of the system to the digital age and its importance to Europe’s creators.

Audiovisual authors’ collective management organisations welcome Trilogue Directive agreement
As the European Parliament’s Legal Affairs committee validated the Parliament-Commission-Council trilogue’s compromise text reached on 4 November, European audiovisual authors’ societies welcome the finalisation of the text of the Directive and call on the Commission to build on it now to improve authors’ remuneration in the digital era.
